It was believed that glass was discovered in 50 BC by Roman seamen who docked along the shores of the Eastern Mediterranean coast. As they set up camp along the seaside, they placed lumps of soda from their ship to support their cooking-pots.

When the soda became hot and fused with the sand on the beach, streams of an unknown liquid flowed on the sandy beach. The next morning, they found beautiful, hardened and transparent streaks where the liquid had flowed. That was the origin of glass. Since then, glass has intrigued and impressed people of all stages with its versatility and magical beauty.
